Launch of Headstrong EDM Council Global Reference Data Benchmarking Survey & Interactive roundtable on “What’s next for Reference Data Management”

The Enterprise Data Management Council (EDM Council) and Headstrong conducted a global data management benchmarking survey designed to collect comparable metrics on how financial institutions are implementing their data management programs. The survey consists of a combination of online survey and in-depth one-on-one interviews among a cross section of the financial industry selected by segment, geography and size. A detailed online survey was conducted with 65 firms participating followed by personal interviews with 30 firms. EDM council, Headstrong, Lepus and element22 worked together on survey design, administration and data analysis.

The survey report will be released on 15th Sept, in NY followed by presentation by Mike Atkin of EDM Council and an interactive roundtable on “What’s next for Reference Data Management”. Mike will present both the quantitative and qualitative findings as well as analysis on what it means in terms of data management maturity. We will use the roundtable to explore the relationship between where the industry currently resides on the data management maturity curve versus where we need to be to meet the new requirements for systemic oversight.

Participants in the briefing will be the first to receive the findings of the benchmarking research.

About the panelists

	Michael Atkin Managing Director, EDM Council Mike has been a professional facilitator and financial information industry advocate for over 20 years. Mike is an active participant in standards initiatives and has been involved with many organizations including the Securities and Financial Information Markets Association (SIFMA) and the Association of National Numbering Agencies. He was previously a member of the SEC’s Advisory Committee on Market Data.
	Predrag Dizdarevic Senior Adviser, Headstrong and Managing Partner, element22 Predrag Dizdarevic is an established subject matter expert in enterprise information management. Predrag was formerly a Partner and EVP at Capco, member of the Executive Management Committee and Head of Capco Reference Data Services and Solutions. Prior to joining Capco, Predrag was the President and CEO of Financial Technologies International (aka GoldenSource).
	John Bottega Chief Data Officer at Federal Reserve Bank of New York A graduate of St. John’s University in Queens John has been the Chief Data Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York since February of 2009. Prior to this he was the Chief Data Officer at Citi for three years, and Head of Data Quality Group at Lehman Brothers for 9 years.
	Norman Brower Executive Director, Morgan Stanley Norman currently holds the position of Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where he’s a member of the Enterprise Data Management group responsible for leading teams to implement data centric solutions to meet the broad needs of The Firm. Norman has 20 years of experience in the financial industry including 14 years experience working for tier-one broker dealers.
	Marty Williams Vice President, Interactive Data Marty is currently the Vice President of Reference Data Product Development at Interactive Data. A graduate of Manhattan College for undergrad Marty received his MBA in finance from Rider. He has also held the position of Senior Vice President of Thompson Financial.
	Rohit Mathur Head, Enterprise Data Services, Headstrong Rohit is a seasoned Business Solutions Architect specializing in technology solutions, process automations and best practices around entity and instrument reference data. He has been involved with multiple buy-side and sell-side clients for building target solution architectures, performing current state assessments, building and managing multi-shore engagements within the Enterprise Data domain. Rohit currently heads the ‘Enterprise Data Services’ practice at Headstrong.
