Headstrong acquires Chicago-based Faber Consulting, strengthening the focus on business intelligence.
The company receives US$191 million in equity financing – $173 million from Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) and $18 million from H&Q Asia Pacific – and changes name to Headstrong.
James Martin & Company acquires Manila-based NCR Professional Services group, embracing outsourcing and NCR Teradata data warehousing and enterprise analytics.
Gantthead.com is launched worldwide as the premier community for Information Technology Project Managers.

James Martin & Company acquires Interim, strengthening offshore QA & Testing competencies.

1996
HCL James Martin Inc., a joint venture between HCL and James Martin & Company, is formed to provide systems redevelopment solutions, including Year 2000 renovation.

1992
PACT Group is acquired, strengthening assets of the Global Delivery Center in Manila, Philippines to support application maintenance outsourcing and related activities.

1991
James Martin & Company launches business product innovations in the United States like the integration of rules and Object Oriented methods, the first hypertext methodology, and the value stream approach. The company evolves into a leading systems integrator.

1990
In a transaction with Texas Instruments, James Martin Associates divests its European business and changes its name to James Martin & Company.

1984
James Martin Associates takes a leading role in the developing Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) industry. Texas Instruments contracts James Martin Associates to design, architect and manage the build of one of the most ambitious and powerful development tools – IEF (now called CoolGen), which is still in use by numerous companies today.

1983
James Martin Associates launches international expansion, opening offices in Amsterdam and Dublin.

1982
James Martin Associates signs contract with Texas Instruments to develop and publish the first methodology for translating business needs into system solutions – Information Engineering Methodology (IEM).

1981
The company is founded in London as James Martin Associates under the leadership of Dr. James Martin, who today serves as Chairman Emeritus of Headstrong.
